COACHING PROGRAMS


Training for any endurance event is a very demanding process that requires a lot of planning, preparation, decision making, implementation, analysis, patience, discipline, resiliency, determination….the list goes on.

It’s hard. But that’s the whole point. That's why you’re doing it. To challenge yourself. To get out of your comfort zone. To achieve the “impossible”.

Consistency over time = progress. If you can be consistent with your training on a weekly, then monthly basis, you will make some incredible progress with your fitness and your ability to achieve all your race goals.

But right now, you’re unsure of what sessions to program yourself. You don’t know if you’re doing too much, or not enough. You don't know if you should run every run hard or do intervals. But then, what length intervals? How often?

You’ve been feeling tired, you’ve missed a few runs and now you don’t know if you should start the whole program from the beginning. You’re not making the progress you were hoping for, and it all feels too hard and you wish there was a solution to all your training problems.

Isobel Tait

Head Coach

Isobel is Head Coach and founder of Peak Endurance Coaching, as well as a world-class athlete who has raced around the world. She has represented Australia 3 times at the World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships, as well as racing twice in the Barkley Marathons.

Not only does Isobel have vast personal experience in racing long and short distances (she also has sub 20 min 5k, sub 40 min 10k and sub 3-hour marathon to her name!) but she has also invested in learning all that she can about running. Isobel holds a Recreational Running Certification from Athletics Victoria, an Ultra-Running Coach certification from UESCA and Cycling Coach certification from UESCA. She is a qualified Cert III and IV Personal Trainer, as well as a qualified Sports Nutritionist, with an extra Endurance Sports Nutrition certification from UESCA.

Isobel writes personalised programs that are backed by science and research as well as being tried and tested in the real world. Isobel prides herself on the amazing results and success of the athletes she coaches.


Ron Tait

Assistant Coach

Ron is Isobel's husband and has worked closely with Isobel to build Peak Endurance Coaching. Ron has run many 100km races and swept/marked/race directed many more races of various distances. Ron has been running for over 20 years and loves the community, but also the solitude you can find on the trails. Ron is a UESCA certified Ultra Running Coach and would love to help you smash your audacious goals for races of ANY distance. As your coach, he will work closely with you to structure a training program that will fit in with your lifestyle and enable you to achieve your running potential. Ron loves to see his athletes achieving their running dreams and pushing past their previous limits.


Zoe O'Meara

Assistant Coach

Zoe was one of the first clients of Peak Endurance Coaching and has been coached by Isobel through many ultras. Zoe knows first-hand how well the Peak Endurance Coaching method of training works so was a natural fit for the role of coach.

Having been a Cert III and Cert IV Personal Trainer for well over a decade, Zoe enjoys and thrives on assisting her clients in all their health and fitness needs. Strength and Endurance training with periodisation are things about which she is most passionate.

Zoe knows the juggling act of family and life in general and is always learning new ways to incorporate her training into “everyday life “and is a strong believer that consistency pays off.

Having raced in Australia and overseas, the excitement of building towards an event never dulls and Zoe is a believer in the body is only as strong as the mind and both must be trained to “Tame the Beast”.

Youth Programs

Coaching kids is completely different to coaching adults!

Coaching youths is different to coaching adults. Training must progress more slowly, and there must be time available for kids to participate in other activities. As a coach, I am cognisant of not overloading young athletes to ensure that not only do they stay injury-free, but that they retain their love of the sport.

The cost for under-18 athletes is $40 per week, with a $60 set-up fee. Monthly calls are conducted as zoom calls with the athlete and parents together as communication is paramount to ensure the training progresses correctly.
